Funding is available to support both communities and individuals who want to install renewable energy generation equipment. These schemes are called CARES and SCHRI.

CARES (Communities and Renewable Energy Scheme) is operated jointly by Community Energy Scotland and the Energy Saving Trust and provides grant funding to pay for the purchase and installation of renewables technologies in community locations, for example community buildings such as yours. SCHRI (Scottish Community and Householder Renewables Initiative) is operated by the Energy Saving Trust and provides grant funding to support the installation of household renewables. The scheme can provides grant funding to householders of up to 30% of the cost of installing these technologies, up to a maximum of £4,000. ESSac - Energy Savings (Scotland) Advice Centre

The Energy Saving Scotland advice centre network offers free advice on energy efficiency, small scale renewables and sustainable transport. They help customers access grants from the Scottish Government and energy supply companies and, for the first time, offer an energy home help service.
